We left on Tuesday but not before Adrian again raised blood and skin on his head by head butting the sign saying "watch Your Head". We went to Young! Had a lovely couple of days with Paul and Sharron and co. We couldnt sleep in the van at Young because the Dixon's have a metal arch over the gate which may have connected with the van if we had drived thru.Glorious weather! We hope it continues. We saw Matt Dixon's amazing house that is being built out of poly styrene blocks filled with concrete. It is on one of the blocks near Paul and Sharron's house. The insulation effects should save lots on heating and cooling.I Fay] went to exercise classes with Sharron so this justified the yummy morning tea we had at Peita's.All the gang came for dinner on wed night. The kids all enjoyed having  a look thru the van.

We headed off for Dubbo early Thursday and our first stop was Grenfell. Pretty town and lots of old buildings in keeping with ideas of early colonial Australia. Saw  a monument to Henry Lawson as this is where he was born. I{fay] got my first bargain of the trip! Leather shoes  for $ 20 in Grenfell. The lady said travellers often buy stuff. Back in the car and we stopped in Forbes for lunch. Found a lovely park next to Lake Forbes and Adrian and I had our first bike ride of the trip around the lake. Very enjoyable- no flat tyres and no one fell off! After lunch we headed to Parkes and stopped and saw the radio telescope. We watched a short movie that was so inspiring that we both went to sleep. We saw the dish move and we bought the DVD of "The Dish".
We are now in Peak Hill for the night. Have had a bike ride around the town- took all of five minutes except when we stopped and talked to the locals. Un fortunatelt it was the peak hour - we saw both cars in the main stereet move at the same time. Lovely rosegarden that a lady planted. She was also sweeping the gutter. Likes things to look good. The country side looks wonderful and lots of water lying in paddocks still. We have seen large numbers of sheep and cattle grazing. Apparently farmers are restocking after the drought. Forbes and Young certainly look prosperous and appear to be thriving. Adrian is having trouble with his phone as the SIM card appears to have failed. We will attempt to get a new card in Dubbo tomorrow. Any contact should be through Fay's phone for the time being. Have been chatting to different people in park. The park owner bought around scones and jam for everyone for afternoon tea. That's about all for today.
